@BranVanChemist, showing off a nice pair of lab glasses (with side shields!) and lab coat.
Hey, isn’t everyday supposed to be Lab PPE Day?
Well, yeah.
Seriously, though, we try to do things right every day, and we try to teach people to do things right every day.
So why not take a day to celebrate and advertise that scientists/chemists wear PPE on a daily basis and that we should wear PPE on a daily basis?
Doing it, and showing that we do it, is one of the best ways that we can encourage safer practice in the laboratory and that we can encourage younger students to take safety seriously.
C&EN senior editor Jyllian Kemsley and kids, all modeling the safest (and brightest?) in lab goggles!
From The College of New Jersey, a couple fun advertisements for lab coats.
Love this sign from @ReneeWebs! Even labs need lab goggles.
Full-face respirator (with N95 covers (?) and cartridges (?)) from @scientistmags.
Love the steel toed boots, from @scientistmags.
If you’re wearing a full-face respirator, you should probably be wearing a lab coat.
I am really fond of this pic from @kzrt — side shields on lab glasses are so important!
@flippantchemist (in lab coat, lab glasses and gloves) says “Because wearing white coat isn’t a good idea if you work with colors!”
@jessthechemist, showing a nice lab coat and gloves on Lab PPE Day!
@eccagle gives Lab PPE Day a big thumbs up in lab coat, lab glasses and (nitrile?) gloves!
From @reneewebs: “My PPE staples are glasses and nitrile gloves, a lab coat if it’s cold!”
Lab coats: they’ll protect you and keep you warm!
